An Important Announcement
from the Co-Proprietors

Dear Friends of JLV,

Some stories fill a few pages, while others fill a whole series of books. But all stories eventually reach their final chapter. We’re writing to let you know that Junius Lindsay Vineyard is reaching the end of our story. Through the end of 2026, we will be celebrating JLV’s legacy as we wind down operations.

For twenty years, Junius Lindsay Vineyard has been defined by our dad’s singular vision. Michael Zimmerman was tirelessly committed to turning our family’s land into something truly remarkable. Inspired by his travels and love for France, he wanted to bring a little piece of the Rhône Valley to Davidson County. From the first vines planted in 2004 to the final bottles resting in the cellar today, the JLV story has been one of dedication and devotion. Dad created a place where memories were made, friendships kindled, and joy was shared as folks gathered to raise a glass of our award-winning wines.

We know there is a reason you cherished this spot, and it often started the moment you turned off the main road and heard the crunch of gravel under your tires. It wasn’t just the wine in the glass; it was the way the world seemed to quiet down out here. Our open-air tasting room (the only one in North Carolina) offered unimpeded views of rolling land that stretched toward the horizon. The unhurried pace of a weekend afternoon with music in the air renewed your spirit. And you found those unmistakable, easy-going vibes that were the hallmark of time spent at JLV.

When Dad passed at the end of 2024, we entered a time of transition, hoping to continue JLV’s legacy. All transitions take time and this one was no different. We poured our hearts into carving a sustainable path forward for the vineyard we love so dearly. But as the seasons change, literally and figuratively, we have reached a bittersweet realization. After twenty incredible years, we have decided to bring this chapter of the JLV legacy to a conclusion at the end of 2026. This decision did not come easily, but we know it’s the right one, hard as it may be.

In this final year, we will celebrate the place our father built and the path we have walked together. To honor that, this final year we will be featuring:

​

• Bottles from the Vault: We will be releasing all remaining library wines that tell the story of JLV since 2004. (Details coming soon.)

• The Final Releases: We are proud to share the final releases of our exquisite Second Leaf and Rhapsody port (two guest favorites) arriving on April 18.

• A Full Calendar: All currently scheduled music, food trucks, and special events will proceed as planned. We are keeping our calendar full through the end of the year to ensure there are plenty of opportunities to gather.

• JLV Keepsakes: We are offering special pricing on all our branded merchandise all year, so you can take a piece of the vineyard home to treasure forever.

• Our Final Toast: This fall, we invite you to join us for a final commemorative gathering at the tasting room. It will be a day of music, shared memories, and a grand toast to the 22-year journey that brought us all together. Stay tuned for date and other details.

 

We warmly invite you to join us throughout the coming months to share one last bottle, watch one more sunset, take in one more music in the vineyard, and toast to the beautiful history written on this estate. For JLV's out-of-state fans, you can still order our wines online and raise a glass wherever you call home.

While this chapter of the JLV story is coming to an end, the essence of this place isn't going anywhere. It lives on in the bottles in your home and the memories of sunsets and music shared with us over the years. We are deeply grateful that you chose to weave our lives into yours. Though the vines may be entering a season of rest, the connection we’ve built with all of you is a legacy that will never fade.
